Georgetown University’s United Way 2011-2012 Workplace Campaign
This year, Georgetown University is again joining forces with United Way of the National Capital Area to help make our community a better, safer, healthier place to live and work. We thank you for considering a contribution to the 2011-2012 United Way Campaign at Georgetown.

Making a Pledge
You may choose one of two payment options when making your pledge:
(1) you may donate using the traditional paper pledge form (payroll deduction or check) or
(2) you may donate directly online using a credit card.
1. Donating through payroll deduction or using a check:
You may make check or payroll deduction donations using the "standard" paper pledge forms, which is the way many donations have been made in the past. Paper pledge forms can be provided by Georgetown’s Director of the United Way Campaign, Brenda Atkinson-Willoughby. Please contact her at ba3@georgetown.edu or 202-687-7035 and she will provide the forms and respond to any questions you might have.
2. Donating directly on-line via the United Way Pledge Form (credit card donations):
Please read these directions for navigating the form before proceeding to the United Way link at the bottom of this page.
When you open the United Way page, simply scroll down to “Donation Options” on the left –hand side of the page and read the directions before you proceed further. You must decide how you would like to give and choose a link from the 3 options. When you click the link of your choice, the appropriate template will come up.
A. If you plan to give to one of the Impact Area Funds, select and click the 1st option labeled “Make a contribution to the United Way NCA Impact Areas of education, financial stability, health and basic need”.
You will be linked to a page headed “United Way Impact Areas”.
When you have made a selection from the options on the left, simply fill in the form on the same page and enter the impact area code in the appropriate box.
It is important to remember to fill in the boxes which ask for your employer information so that your contribution is associated with the Georgetown University campaign.
When you have completed the form, click “process contribution” - one time only - and you will have successfully completed the donation process.
You will receive a thank you note and a confirmation will be emailed soon afterwards.
B. If you plan to give to one of the Community Impact Funds, where your donation will go to the National Capital Area region of your choice, select and click the 2nd labeled “Make a contribution to the United Way NCA Impact Area Impact Funds”.
You will be linked to a page headed “United Way NCA Community Impact Funds”.
When you have made a selection from the options on the left, simply fill in the form on the same page on the right-hand side, and enter the impact fund code in the appropriate box.
It is important to remember to fill in the boxes which ask for your employer information so that your contribution is associated with the Georgetown University campaign.
When you have completed the form, click “process contribution” - one time only - and you will have successfully completed the donation process link.
You will receive a thank you note and a confirmation should be emailed soon afterwards.
C. If you plan to select from a list of charities for your giving, select and click the 3rd option labeled “Make a contribution to a specific United Way NCA nonprofit organization”.
You will be linked to a page headed “Contribute to a Specific Nonprofit Organization”. Select the link labeled “Click here to search for member non-profit organizations.”
You will be linked to a page labeled “Member Nonprofit Search” where you can type in a specific non-profit agency or select the link labeled “Click here to see the entire list of over 730 non-profits.” You can browse through the pages where the organizations are listed alphabetically.
When you get to the organization’s page, if you would like to read more about the organization select the link labeled “more info”. If you decide to give to this organization, then click the link labeled “donate to NAME OF CHARITY”. You will automatically be returned to your form and the ID number for your selected charity will be filled in the appropriate box.
You may now complete the information on the form.
