Welcome to the Office of External Relations

The Office of External Relations (OER), led by Associate Vice President for External Relations, Linda Greenan, seeks to coordinate and facilitate effective relations with the city and local community. The office serves as the University's primary liaison to the broader Washington, D.C. community including the Mayor, City Council, government officials, agencies and public schools.

Additionally, the office reaches out to the communities immediately surrounding the University in a variety ways.  Through a weekly calendar of events posted on neighborhood listservs, inviting neighbors to attend campus lectures, performing arts, athletic and other events, sponsorship of and donations to community organizations and activities as well as participation on the boards of local business associations, the University endeavors to be a good and fully participating neighbor.

We welcome any feedback, advice and suggestions you may have regarding the university and its relationship with the city and its neighbors. Do not hesitate to stop by our office.

The Office of External Relations sends out a weekly calendar via email to community members highlighting events on campus which are open to the public. If you would like to receive this weekly email, please contact us at neighborhood@georgetown.edu.
