Georgetown Center for Liturgy Celebrates 25th Anniversary

In 1981 Fr. Timothy Healy, S.J., then president of Georgetown University, and Fr. Al Panuska, S.J., Provincial of the Maryland Province, recognized the critical need for specialized centers to assist the American Catholic Church with the implementation of the liturgical reforms initiated by the Vatican II.  This led them to establish The Georgetown Center for Liturgy, a valued avenue of outreach to the Church sponsored by Georgetown University and Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Washington, D.C.

Since then, the Center has become a nationally known and widely respected education, research, and consultation center whose primary focus is to ensure the quality of Roman Catholic worship in the United States. The Center is an essential provider of a range of services to diocesan and parish leaders, which are aimed at forming them in liturgical principals and practices.   Read more about the Center's staff and services.
