John W. O'Malley, S.J., University Professor at Georgetown University, is a
renowned historian of the early modern Catholic Church. His books include
The First Jesuits (Harvard, 1993), Trent and All That: Renaming Catholicism
in the Early Modern Era (Harvard 2000) and Four Cultures of the West
(Harvard, 2004). His most recent book, What Happened at Vatican II, is
scheduled for release by Harvard University Press in 2008.
