Artist Info: Portland, Oregon, began writing icons in 1992 under the direction of Charles Rohrbacher. In 1993 and 1998 she studied in France with Fr. Egon Sendler. In 2005 she toured major icon sites in Russia. She is a member of St. Philip Neri Church in Portland and of Christians in the Visual Arts. She has written icons for St. Philip Neri Church, Portland, OR; Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Beaverton, OR; St. Mary's Academy, the Catholic Worker House and the University of Portland, Portland, OR; the Orthodox community in Gold Beach, OR, Our Lady of Guadalupe Trappist Monastery in Lafayette, OR, and for numerous individuals. She has worked as a studio artist and an arts administrator. Her work was also included in the CIVA national traveling exhibit. Mary teaches all levels of summer Institute students, and the bi-monthly classes.
