- Brief Description: White Carrara marble altar with veined sienna columns. The front was carved with the image of The Last Supper. The columns of the altar match those of the baldicchino and the white Carrara marble matches the entablature and dome of the baldicchino. The altar was designed to complement the baldicchino, which was removed from a closed church and redesigned specifically for the new church renovation of St. Joseph in Shreveport, LA.

- Brief Description: The plan of the altar corresponds to the octagonal plan of the church. The stipes are like rays of energy emanating from the
center. The bronze frame connecting the stripes supports a polished bronze and
aluminum reliquary containing relics of saints that are important to the university and the
Vincentian community. The form of the reliquary is a smaller version of the church’s
tabernacle. The mountain rose granite is carved in three different textures to create
unique variations in color and form.

The altar is adaptable for either a standing priest or one in a wheelchair simply by
removing four wood blocks and lowering the mensa. The solid granite stipes are
permanently set in the floor and act as guides for the raising and lowering of this mensa
creating a unique permanent altar that is accessible to all.

- Brief Description: This inner city parish church was built by European settlers in Brooklyn but is now
an African American parish. The new sanctuary was inspired by thestone churches carved from the mountain sides of Lalibela, Ethiopia in the 7th century.
The altar is of solid granite with carvings on the mensa top that replicates the cruciform
graphics on the flat roofs of these stone churches. It also holds a reliquary of glass and
granite.

Its predominantly horizontal composition is inspired by the symbol of the tree which has one half pointing upwards and the other downwards. In the tree symbol Heaven and Earth unite.
