Q. What is your favorite book?
A. “Pictures from an Institution”
Q. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
A. Palmyra, in Syria.
Q. What would you be doing if you weren’t a professor at Georgetown University?
A. I’d like to be a script doctor, which is a person who is brought in when productions are in trouble to figure out where the problem is and how to get around it.
Q. What is your favorite thing about Washington, DC?
A. The earliest moments of the spring.
Q. What three words would the people closest to you use to describe you?
A. Inventive. Tall. Unpredictable.
