Being able to have time for diverse experiences in both my personal and professional lives
Who or what was the greatest influence in your life that led to your career?
A professor I had in college was the one who showed me how interesting organismal biology could be.
If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently?
Nothing because much in life is due to chance anyway

Helping other people make intellectual breakthroughs

If you could change one thing at Georgetown, what would it be?
I would like Georgetown to be perceived as a university with diverse and vibrant programs in the natural sciences
What, if any, is your phobia?
I have an irrational distaste for the vegetable cauliflower
How do you have fun?
Fishing, cooking and eating, traveling, home renovation
What is the best piece of advice you could give to your students?
Work to develop consistent discipline and organization
