This fall we are kicking off the academic year with a celebration to inaugurate the launch of the Department of Anthropology and our new office space in the Car Barn. We are honored to announce that Professor Sherry Ortner will be giving the “Inaugural Lecture of the Department of Anthropology” on Thursday, September 22, 2011from 4-5:30 in McShain Lounge, followed by a reception. We are grateful to all the current and past students, and colleagues at Georgetown and neighboring universities, who have helped build our anthropology community. Please join us at the celebration!
