Faculty Member Helps Build Peace Research Capacity in Africa
Visiting Assistant Professor, Dr. Craig Zelizer, recently returned from a trip to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where he attended a meeeting of the Peace Research Advisory Board at UPEACE/Africa. As board member he is helping to support a new initiative to train a new generation of Ph.D. students and faculty on peace and conflict research methodology in Africa.Through a competitive process 12 Ph.D. students will receive financial support and training to carry out research at African Universities. An additional 18 faculty members and students will participate in a three session capacity building training. The program is funded by the International Development Research Centre in Canada.
