Supreme Court
On Tuesday October 4, program students attended oral arguments as special guests of the Supreme Court. The cases were Maples v. Thomas and Martinez v. Ryan. Both involved claims of ineffective counsel by criminal defendants, one of whom was on death row. The justices expressed a variety of views in their questioning and it will be interesting to see how these cases turn out.
