Equipment and Resources
The Linguistics Lab and the Data Acquisition Lab provides faculty and students with access to several workstations in an ergonomic and comfortable work environment. Found below are the systems available in each lab.
Computer Systems
Available in the Linguistics Lab are:
- One iMac 7.1 with Zip 250 Drive
- One Power Mac G4 with SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW)
- Two iMac/eMacs
- One Dell GX 150 (Multimodal Discourse Analysis and Video Editing Workstation) equipped with CD-RW and DVD drives
- Two More Dell GX 150 PCs for general use
Available in the Data Acquisition Lab are:
- One PC workstation connected with speech analysis equipment (CSL with palatometer and laryngograph)
- One iMac G4 with Combo (DVD-ROM/CD-RW
- 2 Dell GX 150 PCs available for general use when the recording studio is not in use for research projects
In addition, the Linguistics Lab and the Data Acquisition Lab provide access to the following hardware and software:

For information on borrowing equipment, please send an email to the
linglab@georgetown.edu with the following information: name, phone number, email address, if you are undergraduate, graduate, or a faculty member, what equipment you would like to borrow, and when you would like to pick it up. Also, please review this
information before you request equipment. Please be aware that there are time limits on borrowing epuipment. For a more detailed description of equipment available for loan, see the
