Previous Award Winners

Congratulations to Don Nathanson (class '08), recipient of a 2006-2007 Psi Chi/ National Convention Research Award for a paper titled "Childhood Pet Attachment and Anxiety in College Students" study. Almost 100 Georgetown undergraduates completed a pet attachment survey and a standardized anxiety test. Don had hypothesized that having a close attachment with a pet during childhood might buffer students from anxiety as young adults. Although the hypothesis was not supported, the process of designing and implementing his own project as a part of his research methods class with Professor Barr was an exciting one for Don. He will present his research at the Psi Chi Award Ceremony at the APA Convention in San Francisco in August 2007.
