Certificate Programs
Students may elect to pursue one of the following certificate programs as part of their CCT studies. With the exception of undergraduate and language courses, all courses required for these certificates can be used as CCT elective courses to satisfy both the CCT degree as well as the certificate program requirements.
- Graduate Certificate in Arab Studies
The Graduate Certificate in Arab Studies is offered by the Center of Contemporary Arab Studies. Students are required to take five courses related to Arab studies and pass a written or oral Arabic proficiency exam administered by the Department.
- Honors Certificate in International Business Diplomacy
The Honors Certificate in International Business Diplomacy (IBD) is offered by the Karl F. Landegger Program in International Business Diplomacy at the Georgetown School of Foreign Service. CCT students must take four of the six required IBD courses in programs other than CCT. CCT students are also encouraged to take Business, Accounting, and Finance early in their IBD coursework.
IBD and other certificate students: Plan to take the gateway course for the certificate in the first or second semester. Students need to take least one or two certificate courses each semester to finish the degree and certificate requirements in two years. Two CCT courses can count as your IBD electives. So, when selecting CCT courses you want to take, pick ones when possible that also fulfill IBD. With the exception of undergraduate and language courses, courses that fulfill approved certificate program requirements also fulfill CCT elective course requirements.
