Conference Rooms and Meeting Planning
Employees may reserve conference rooms or other space for events by going online to http://ocaf.georgetown.edu. The Office of Campus Activity Facilities takes reservations for a number of rooms and outdoor spaces on the campuses, and offers audio/visual services and furniture arrangement. Catering services are provided through the Office of Auxiliary Services http://auxsrvcs.georgetown.edu.
Computer and Software Sales
Hoya Computing, a division of University Information Services, facilitates the sale of computer systems, peripherals and software to faculty, staff, and students of Georgetown University. Education discounts are available for many purchases, including those for personal use. Visit http://uis.georgetown.edu/hoyacomputing.
Hoya Staffing Service
This internally operated staffing service provides qualified temporary employees for departments throughout the University. Hoya Staffing provides short-term, long-term, part-time, and full-time support not only for general administrative positions but also for those in accounting and finance, information technology, research, project coordination, faculty support and assistance, and more. It also provides staffing service for regular positions for a fee.
On-Campus Mail Services
The mail services staff provides daily inter-departmental mail delivery, as well as in-plant bulk mail services. For daily mail schedules or questions regarding requirements, call 687-5244.
Packing and Shipping
The UPS Store, located at 1421 37th St., NW, provides shipping services and packing supplies, as well as U.S. Mail, notary, fax, and passport photo services. On days that the University is closed, the UPS Store is also closed.
Preferred Vendors
Georgetown University has partnered with several vendors to provide products and services to the University at discounted rates. The University’s financial affairs office maintains a list of preferred vendors in categories such as office supplies, travel services, couriers, research supplies, furniture and cell phones. Procurement Card
The Purchasing and Contracts Department offers full-time Georgetown employees the opportunity to acquire a procurement card if authorized by the employee’s supervisor. This MasterCard, to be used strictly for Georgetown University business, is intended to streamline the purchasing process by not requiring a purchase order or invoice for payment. Technology Training and Support
University Information Services provides a wide range of technology assistance to all University employees. The office administers NetIDs and the Access+ suite, which allows employees to view their payroll and benefits information online. UIS also offers Help Desk tech support and training programs. While UIS provides GUMail accounts for most Main Campus and Medical Center employees, the McDonough School of Business and the Law Center each provide e-mail services for their employees.
