Chaplain-In-Residence - Copley 226
Anne-Elisabeth Giuliani serves as a Chaplain-in-Residence in Copley Hall. Before coming to the United States in 1990, she studied medicine and linguistics in France. She is currently working on a doctoral dissertation in American History. She received her formation in theology and spirituality at the Studium of Notre-Dame de Vie (near Avignon, France), and continues to be involved with this international theological center rooted in the tradition of the great Carmelite saints and mystics. Her own work focuses on the spiritual formation of the laity, the spirituality of St. Therese of the Child Jesus in the context of the new evangelization, and the developments of Christian spirituality since Vatican II. Over her years at Georgetown, she has coordinated a variety of pastoral and liturgical programs, prayer groups, retreats, and interfaith initiatives. Highlights of her work include two trips abroad with Georgetown students and Jesuits on the occasion of World Youth Day 1997 in Paris and 2000 in Rome. She enjoys working in a residence hall, striving to foster an atmosphere of faith, joy, and inner freedom conducive to students' intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth.
