Andrea C. Kramer

Chaplain-In-Residence - Reynolds 424

Andrea C. KramerAndrea C. Kramer is the Chaplain-in-Residence in Reynolds Hall and the Director of the Chaplains-in-Residence Program. Natively from Southern California, she lived in several states in the U.S. before moving to the District in 2002. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in History from Brandeis University, focusing on American social history and women’s history. Transformed by the experience of being a Roman Catholic on the predominantly Jewish campus of her alma mater, Andrea has been acutely interested in ecumenical and interfaith initiatives ever since. In May 2006, she completed her Master of Divinity degree at Washington Theological Union, a graduate program she selected in part because of its association with the Washington Theological Consortium of seminaries and theology schools of various faith traditions.

Prior to her graduate studies, Andrea spent 11 years working in higher education, in the area of financial aid administration. While enjoying her work with young adults, she also took on a significant leadership role at her parish during the lengthy interim period between pastors. This experience of pastoral leadership led to her calling to further study of her faith.

Andrea is married to Kenneth H. Wong, an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Georgetown University Medical Center whose research at the Imagining Sciences and Information Systems (ISIS) Center focuses on medical imaging and robotically-assisted surgery. In April 2006, they became first-time parents to their son Simon. Andrea enjoys cooking, photography, and camping in her leisure time.
