Bill Mattison

Bill Mattison is a Chaplain-in-Residence in Village A, where he lives with his wife Courtney and son Billy. Bill graduated from Georgetown in 1993. After teaching in an inner city Catholic elementary school for two years, he began to pursue graduate studies in theology. He first obtained a Master's of Theological Studies from Weston Jesuit in Cambridge, where he also worked at Boston College preparing undergraduates for service trips in the Ignacio Volunteers Program. He then went to Notre Dame to obtain his doctorate in moral theology, where he also worked with undergraduates on retreat programs. After teaching stints at Notre Dame and Mount St. Mary’s, he is now a professor of moral theology at the Catholic University of America. His teaching and research focus on virtue ethics and marriage & sexuality, with particular attention to the thought of St. Thomas Aquinas.
