Thought of the Week
“The depth of our sorrow reveals the depth of our love. A great act of love and intimacy is to allow our beloved to enter into our sorrow.”

Claiming Our Deepest Desires
Bearing each other’s sorrows is also a quality of a good relationship. There is no sorrow or pain for loss of loved ones or for breaks in relationships if there is not love. We cannot be hurt nor can we experience love and joy if we do not risk relationship. The depth of our sorrow reveals the depth of our love. A great act of love and intimacy is to allow our beloved to enter into our sorrow. If we do not enter into each other’s sorrows we cannot hope to enter into each other’s joys.
