Affiliated Council

1. The council comprises:

     A. representatives of off-campus Protestant organizations and
          churches that have an affiliated status with Georgetown University
          through Campus Ministry;
     B. the Protestant Team Leader who will be an ex officio non-voting
          member of the council; 
     C. two members of the Main Campus faculty, one selected by the
          Protestant Team Leader and the other appointed by the council
          itself. Each shall serve for two years.
     D. one ex officio voting member from the Protestant Student Forum.

2. The membership of the council will abide by the policies and procedures of the University regarding those who have affiliated status.

3. The membership of the council will sign a covenant agreement which upholds the goals of Campus Ministry and Georgetown University, while also affirming and recognizing the distinctive identity and contributions of each of the affiliated ministries.

4. The council will be self-monitoring. Members of the council will coordinate and facilitate the council on a one-year rotating basis.

5. The council will ordinarily meet three times for each semester. The chair may call additional meetings if necessary, and the Protestant Team Leader may also request that additional meetings be scheduled.

6. The council will:

     A. Plan and organize opportunities for fellowship and worship
          among the Christian traditions in coordination with the Protestant
          Student Forum, incorporating the Catholic and Orthodox
          chaplaincies when appropriate;
     B. Develop protocols in collaboration with the directors of Campus
          Ministry for renewal of membership, and for addressing issues,
          questions, and problems that arise regarding fulfillment of the
          covenant agreement;
     C. Collaborate with Campus Ministry leadership and University
          authorities when necessary regarding issues that arise regarding
          University policies and procedures;
     D. Help formulate goals for the Protestant Ministry which will
          complement and further the goals of Campus Ministry;
     E. Meet with the Protestant Student Forum as necessary;
     F. Assess and interview applicants to the council and make 
          recommendations. The Team Leader of the Protestant
          Chaplaincy will consult with the director of the Main Campus
          Ministry, as well as the director of Campus Ministry, in
          formulating a decision.

7. The council will meet with the director of the Main Campus at one of its regular meetings each semester to facilitate dialogue and report on the achievement of the goals of the council within Campus Ministry.

8. The covenant agreement is signed by the main administrator of the regional or national office of the main judicatory body (headquarters, diocese, synod, district) governing the ministry seeking affiliation, and that administrator will identify who their representative on Georgetown University's campus will be.
