Welcome
Welcome and thank you for your interest in Georgetown University. This website will introduce you to some of the academic experiences and rich traditions that make Georgetown a special place.
For more than 218 years, Georgetown has stood on the banks of the Potomac River overlooking the nation's capital. Few settings could offer greater intellectual, political or cultural resources. In a city where the lessons of history come alive, students and faculty examine the modern world in its infinite complexity.
Under the guidance of renowned scholars, Georgetown students immerse themselves in the realm of ideas. Our Catholic and Jesuit heritage invites us to take that exploration to an even deeper level. Our students are encouraged not only to study but also to reflect, and through an understanding of the world, to prepare for lives of leadership and service.
This is an exciting time to be at Georgetown, so if you are a prospective student, an alum, or a parent, take a moment to check out all that's going on through this website. I hope you will also have an opportunity to visit the campus and discover the Georgetown spirit for yourself.
