Fulbright Fellowships
The United States Congress, with the aid of Senator J. William Fulbright created the Fulbright program in 1946 following the end of WWII. The purpose of the Fulbright Awards Program is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and other countries through the exchange of persons, knowledge, and skills, and to provide U.S. students with the opportunity for professional development and international experience.

Prior to making an appointment with Maryam Mohamed, the Fulbright Program Advisor (fulbright@georgetown.edu), applicants should read both this website carefully and make themselves familiar with the Fulbright US Student Program website.

Deadlines: Fulbright applications are due on campus over a year before the actual grant commences, interested students should plan accordingly.
For the 2009-2010 academic year:
- Drafts Due: August 1, 2008
For undergraduate mandatory drafts of the project proposal and personal statement are due via email to M. Mohamed. Optional for graduate students and alumni. However, if graduate students and alumni wish to have their drafts read, they must meet this deadline as well.
- Internal Application Deadline for all undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni: September 12, 2008
- Campus Fulbright Committee interviews: Last week of September- First week of October 2008
For the 2010-2011 academic year:
- Drafts Due: August 1, 2009
For undergraduate mandatory drafts of the project proposal and personal statement are due via email to M. Mohamed. Optional for graduate students.

Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors may apply for the Fellowship Workshop. This prepares students for submitting applications for University nomination for the Rhodes, Marshall and Mitchell fellowships. - Sophomores Apply to the Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program
