Alumni & Friends
More than seventeen thousand alumni of the School of Foreign Service continue to make a difference in leadership positions across the globe. They are entrepreneurs, attorneys, ambassadors, professors, military officers, business executives, and even heads of state. Many of our graduates directly enter professions that value their quality international affairs education; others go on to graduate work at distinguished universities. Their years at Georgetown and the School of Foreign Service—whether as undergraduates, graduate students, or participants in our executive education programs—give them both professional expertise and a commitment to serve our global community.

Like many SFS students, Eric Pohlman '04 joined the Peace Corps when he graduated. He served for two years in Cameroon as an agro-forestry volunteer. But unlike most of his peers, he stayed in Africa.

Students Get Hands-On Lesson in Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution
On November 13-14, SFS-Q and Georgetown’s Institute for the Study of Diplomacy (ISD) hosted a two-day crisis simulation for students in Doha. The exercise, centering on a stalemate scenario between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh, gave 21 SFS-Q students and a select group of local secondary school students the opportunity to explore the process and dynamics of conflict resolution and hone their skills in negotiation, diplomacy, and critical thinking.
