MSFS Alum Launches Book on Off-Grid Living

MSFS Alum William Powers (MSFS '99) will launch his new book, entitiled, "Twelve by Twelve: A One-Room Cabin off the Grid & Beyond the American Dream" on May 13, 2010 in New York City.  Power's book suggests a paradigm shift from our "Flat World" to an elusive "Soft World" and hints at ways to achieve personal happiness and global healing.

Powers will begin a breif reading and discussion tour in Washington D.C. on May 25, and will wrap up in Vermont on June 22, 2010.

Powers has led development aid and environmental initiatives in Latin America, Africa, and Washington, DC. He is the author of the critically-acclaimed memoirs Blue Clay People and Whispering in the Giant's Ear, and his essays on global issues have appeared in publications such as The New York Times, the Washington Post, The Atlantic, and Slate. He is currently a senior fellow at the World Policy Institute.
