Veterans Administration Education Benefits

Director of Veterans Affairs in the University Registrars Office

Part-time Employment
Part-time employment, both on and off campus, is available as an alternative or supplement to a financial aid package. To assist students in locating such employment, the OSFS has established an Employment Referral Service. The Service acts as a clearinghouse for part-time and temporary job listings on campus and for local businesses and organizations. It is available to all Georgetown University students regardless of financial need.
Junior Fellows in Diplomacy
The Institute for the Study of Diplomacy (ISD) offers the Junior Fellowships in Diplomacy, which brings students into a direct working relationship with the Diplomatic Associates. The Associates are experienced practitioners of international relations conducting individual research while sharing their experience with the University. Junior Fellows receive a stipend and three academic credits. They are selected on the basis of overall academic and professional record and the quality of the research proposal submitted to the selection committee. Information about the Fellowships is administered by the ISD. For additional information, click here.
Teaching and Research Assistantships
One-semester research and teaching assistantships are available to first and second year MSFS students in various departments and offices. These assistantships involve approximately 15 hours per week of work as research assistants. These positions are advertised on Blackboard, an on-line bulletin board, and are available to students only after matriculation in September.
Geiger Book Fund
This fund commemorates the long and dedicated service of Dr. Theodore Geiger to the academic development of the MSFS Program. In line with Dr. Geiger's important role in teaching the MSFS core curriculum, this scholarship award is intended to provide financial support to assist an entering student's purchase of books for first-semester core courses.

"MSFS has several notable advantages over similar programs. For me the least obvious, and perhaps most important, is the flexibility of the program."
