Faculty

The MSFS Program places the highest priority on the quality of teaching and the classroom experience. The Program recruits and retains faculty who are superior teachers and demonstrate an interest in and concern for their students.

Full-time faculty of the School of Foreign Service and the associated schools and departments of Georgetown University teach the MSFS core curriculum in international politics, history and economics, as well as many elective courses. Adjunct faculty, many of whom are leading figures in the fields of international affairs and foreign policy, teach workshops and other courses on contemporary policy issues from a practical perspective.

All MSFS professors hold weekly office hours and meet with students outside of class. Each student chooses one faculty member to serve as his or her advisor. Faculty members provide both academic and career advice and often help students find internships and jobs and make useful contacts in the professional world. The Program's small size contributes to a high degree of interaction between faculty and students.
