Statistics from recent MSFS enrolling classes:

2008

The enrolling class of 2008 includes:  foreign government officials, military officers, journalists, teachers, business professionals, one Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellow, one Rangel Scholar, three students with JET experience, 6 Fulbrights, 11 returned Peace Corps volunteers, 11 Phi Beta Kappa awardees, an AmeriCorps Volunteer, and a Truman Scholar. 

Students self-reported the following information: the class averages 4 years of prior work experience, the average age is 26.3 (age range 21 – 34), 34% of the students are international, and 26% of U.S. students represent a U.S. minority.  Students claiming dual citizenship with the U.S. and another country are counted as U.S citizens in these statistics.  This year’s international students come from 22 countries.

2007

The enrolling class of 2007 includes:  students sponsored by foreign governments, military personnel, professionals, journalists, teachers, business professionals, 2 Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellows, 1 Rangel Scholar, 2 students with JET experience, 11 Fulbrights, 10 returned Peace Corps volunteers, 8 Phi Beta Kappa awardees, a McNair Scholar and a Javits Scholar.  They come from 35 different undergraduate backgrounds including journalism, psychology, sociology, and various forms of engineering.

Students self-reported the following information:  the class averages 5 years of prior work experience, the average age is 26.7 (age range 22.3 – 33.9), 30% of the students are international, and 24% of U.S. students represent a U.S. minority.  Students claiming dual citizenship with the U.S. and another country are counted as U.S citizens in these statistics.  This year’s international students come from 23 countries.
