Application Information
Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar constantly works to make its application materials accessible and user-friendly. This is an overview of the application process with details on our online application solution and the supporting application materials.
The Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar offers an Online Application System which allows for submission of key required application materials online, in place of the First Year Application for Admission form (Item #1 on the Application Checklist). We encourage our applicants to apply online. For applicants who cannot utilize this system, a downloadable paper application is available.
For those applicants who choose to apply online, the Personal Statement (Item #2 on the checklist) and Essay (Item #3 on the checklist) will also be submitted online.
Online applicants may choose to submit the application fee (Item #10) online by credit card payment or by check or money order made out to Georgetown University. Full paper applicants may only submit the application fee directly to the SFS-Qatar Admissions Office by check or money order, made out to Georgetown University. Please note that cash payment of the application fee is not acceptable.
Both online and full paper applicants must submit the passport photocopy (Item #9) directly to the SFS-Qatar Admissions Office.
The Secondary School Report / Transcript (Item #4) and the Teacher’s Report (Item #6) should be sent directly from the school; alternatively, they may be submitted by the applicant in sealed envelopes from the school, with the school official’s stamp or signature on the envelope closure.
Applicants should request to the appropriate testing organization that their TOEFL (code 8750) or IELTS results (Item #7) and SAT I (code 4563) or ACT (code 0669) results (Item #8) be sent directly from the testing organization to SFS-Qatar. SFS-Qatar will accept on a temporary basis unofficial score reports or reports provided by the student. Before a final decision can be made on the application, however, the official reports must be in the SFS-Qatar admissions office.
Please be sure to fill out all forms as neatly and completely as possible.
Any questions should be addressed to: SFSQadmissions@georgetown.edu. Except for technical questions on the online application (see details on technical assistance below), all materials must be sent to:
