Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar engages in research initiatives through the Center's program and faculty research.
Research Center
SFS-Qatar is home to Center for International and Regional Studies (CIRS), a premier research institute specializing in International Affairs, with a focus on the Arabian Gulf. CIRS holds events and conferences on related international affairs subjects, open to everyone around Qatar.
University Faculty
Our distinguished faculty include experts in their fields. Faculty has the opportunity to take advantage of SFS-Qatar funding resources for research and scholarship projects.
Our students have the chance to interact with world-renown scholars in small classes. Students not only enjoy the same curriculum designed for the students in Washington, DC, but also take advantage of Qatar’s location by Service Learning Program, where they travel to different parts of the world to bring an experiential touch to their classroom curriculum.
Library
SFS-Qatar Library is the largest public library in Qatar. Our library takes advantage of its ties with the Washington, DC libraries. SFS-Qatar Library provides Learning Resources; such as Writing and Learning Center, which helps students with their English language skills.
